1. Use a scoop to remove waste from the litter box. Try to avoid shaking the scoop to sift out clean litter, as this kicks up more dust. You can find litter scoops at pet stores, large supermarkets, or online.
2. Transfer the waste into a plastic bag. Take care to ensure all the waste goes into the bag. It is a good idea to hold the bag over the trash can while transferring the waste. The bag doesn't need to be large; it just needs to be big enough to hold the waste and be tied shut.
3. Tie the bag tightly to ensure it is sealed, then dispose of it properly. Once sealed, you can throw it in your regular trash bin along with other garbage. To prevent odors, it is best to take the bag directly to an outdoor trash bin rather than an indoor one. Alternatively, you can place a lidded trash can next to the litter box.
